Dear Editor,
I realize this isn't in the form of a letter to the
Editor or a Press Release. Please forgive me and give a
few moments to my message.
The three most
essential ingredients for a political party are 1) solid
principles, 2) trust, and 3) capability. Recently, we
have seen a tragic manifestation by both major parties
of 1) lack of principles, 2) corruption, and 3)
ineptitude, at the highest levels of "leadership." As we
watch the two "great" parties crumble like the twin
towers of 911, it is time for Us, the People to take
action.
In the Second
Paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, where
Americanism was most eloquently expressed, the 5th
self-evident truth was that when government goes astray,
it is the right, it is the duty, of the people to take
charge and provide new Guards for their future security.
In the name of the
People, we have formed a new political party. Our
official logo is the smiley face, symbolic of the equal
inalienable right of the people to the pursuit of
happiness, as long as they cause no harm. We have called
it The Personal Choice Party.
As a member of the
media, you have access to information that is not
getting out to the people. You know, even more than the
rest of us, how bad things really are. May I suggest it
is time for you to put power aside, in favor of
principle? Perhaps you are willing to put your own name
on the ballot so you can tell it like it really is. If
the Declaration of Independence still puts a lump in
your throat, may I sincerely request that you consider
the following 5 steps:
1. Join the Personal
Choice Party. The process is extremely simple. You
choose to be a member and you are, until you choose not
to be a member. You can remain a member of any other
party(s) without conflict. There is no membership list,
no dues, no statement of principles. Just your
willingness to call your message "Personal Choice."
2. Read the
Constitution of the Personal Choice Party of Utah.
Find it at
http://party.ut.personalchoice.org/constitutionpcput.htm
Some of it is technical, but the Preamble and Postamble
will give you a feeling for our mission. We are not
about winning elections or gaining power. We are about
putting the principles of Americanism before the people
of America. Your participation is sincerely requested.
Maybe it's time for you to set aside your reporting
tools and step forward to use your skills to help save
our civilization. The same request would apply to
businessmen, clergy, and others whose crafts have kept
them on the sidelines.
3. Become a
candidate. Go to your
County Clerk this March, between the 7th and the
17th. It's only about 10 bucks to get on the ballot.
Imagine the impact if a thousand Utahns signed up that
week. It's time to tell the two major parties that we,
the people, want America back. Get all your friends to
file. They don't have to be eloquent, handsome or rich.
They just need to be Americans who care.
4. Put this message
into the hands of everyone in Utah. Publish it. Send it
over the Internet. Hand copies to your friends at social
events.
5. At our State
Convention in May, we will sort it all out and decide
who will be on the November ballot. If you are chosen,
we will help you with a page on the Internet and
possibly with flyers. You don't have to come up with any
more money or time than you wish. Just your name on a
ballot full of regular people might send a sufficient
warning message to those in power. We might win without
winning. Your campaign will be your own message, chosen
only by you.
Thank you for reading
this far. Thank you for passing this along. Thank you
for caring about America and our civilization. Please
forgive me for not having the funds to buy your support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ken Larsen
